Monique Romasco

Monique Romasco is a graduate of Ryerson University’s Theatre school Dance program. She is an experienced Teacher that teaches all across Canada and guest teaches and choreographs for many Arts high schools and Toronto based Dance Companies.

After graduating in 2000 she went on to pursue her career as artistic Director of her own independent modern Jazz Dance company called ‘idDanse’. The company toured across Canada premiering in the Winnipeg, London and Ottawa Fringe Festivals, performing works from Alvin Ailey choreographer Sharon Wong and Renowned Toronto based choreographers, Vicki St. Deny and Gabby Kamino. In the summer of 2000 Monique went on tour with DJ Chris Sheppard and Love Inc, performing for the Vancouver Grizzlies’ Half time show at GM Stadium as well as many sold out performances across Canada.

In 2001 she was hired by DM Creative productions to perform in a dance Revue show “Generations” that premiered at the Casino Windsor Canada. In 2002 Monique was given the opportunity to assist in choreographing the European tour of HAIR-The Love rock Musical. In 2003 she spent some time in L.A and worked along side L.A based choreographer Melissa Williams and DM Creative Productions. She performed in a cabaret show called ‘Femme Fatale’-choreographed and produced by Carla Kama, featuring some of L.A’s Hottest dancer’s and choreographers. In the Fall of 2003 Monique was hired to perform the Role of CHA –CHA in the European Tour of GREASE. In 2004 she was hired as Assistant choreographer and Dance Captain in HAIR-The Love Rock Musical. In 2005 Monique came back to Canada and assisted in Remounting the Dance Revue Show “Generations” and assisted in choreographing the premier Run of “Bon Voyage”

Throughout her career she has danced in several Music videos and industrials around Toronto and has worked and trained with choreographers such as Danny Grossman, former Jerome Robbin’s dancer Lawrence Gradis , Jean-Aimee LaLonde from the Derosiere Dance Company, National Ballet Mistress- Nadia Potts, Toronto Dance theatre Artistic Director- Christopher House, Artistic Directors Allen and Karen Kaeja of Kaeja d’Dance , Artistic Director Serge Bennethan of Dance Makers, Sylvie Bouchard of Corpus, Debbie Wilson of OMO Dance company and Wes Veldink of the Wes Veldink Movement.
