Print and complete all forms. Submit forms via fax, mail or email. You will have to scan your completed form before emailing. We must receive your registrations forms by the cut-off dates to ensure discount rates.

 

 

AGE DIVISIONS:

JUNIOR (ages 7 - 9), YOUTH (ages 10 - 12), TEEN (ages 11 - 14), SENIOR (age 16 and over).

STYLES:

BALLET, HIP-HOP, JAZZ, LYRICAL, OPEN, TAP.

CATEGORIES:

SOLO (1 dancer),  DUO/TRIO (2-3 dancers), GROUP (4-10 dancers),
LINE (11-18 dancers), PRODUCTION (19 or more dancers).

 

IMPORTANT

You must be registered for the ENTIRE convention to be eligible to compete.

FORMS OF PAYMENT
We accept Personal Checks, Business Checks, Cashier Checks and Money Orders. We also accept credit card and bank account payments through PAYPAL for your convenience. Simply MAIL, EMAIL, or FAX us your registration, competition and/or merchandise forms. You will receive confirmation of your order upon receipt. We will email you an invoice and instructions on how to use PAYPAL.

COMPETITION RULES & INFORMATION

Failure to comply may result in loss of points or disqualification.

  1. Basic Rules

    All routines must be appropriate for family viewing. Inappropriate routines will be stopped and disqualified. All contestants must be registered for the entire convention. Competition fees and Convention fees must be submitted at the same time. Please write separate checks for each. Dancers may compete in more than one number in their age division, however they may compete for only one studio/school.

    No teacher may perform with students, no professional dancers, no use of fire or live animals, no beginners and no scenery. General props are OK to be moved on and off stage by dancers. No singing (lip sync and talking OK). Gymnastics: If more than three tricks or passes, the routine will be disqualified (except in Open category-no limit). General Lifts OK.

  2. Time Limits

    Solos-2:30 minutes max, Duo/Trios-3:00 minutes max, Groups-3:30 minutes max, Lines-4:00 minutes max, Production 4:30 max. There will be a grace period of approximately 30 seconds. A 1-point deduction for each second over the specified time limit and grace period will be taken from your score.

  3. Music

    Competition music will be accepted on CD format only. A compilation CD containing all competition entries for each studio or independant is manditory. Use additional CD's if necessary (example...too many tracks to fit on 1 CD). Provide a track list with track numbers, routine titles, and running times for all routines on CD compilations. Provide 2 copies of compilation CD or CD's. CDs must be of excellent quality and contain no other music. CDs must be marked or labeled with studio name and submitted in cases.
    Competition CD's must be submitted to the registration desk between 7:00am and 9:00am on the first day of the convention.

  4. Backstage Conduct

    A 10-point deduction will be taken from your score for misconduct in the dressing rooms/backstage area. No photography or filming of any kind in the dressing rooms.

  5. Judges Critiques

    Teachers/Studio Owners only may pick up their score sheets, judges critiques and music at the registration desk any time between 9:00 am and 11:00 am the morning following the competition.

  6. Competition Stage/Floor

    Approx. 30' x 40'

  7. Unlimited Entries

    Unlimited entries total per studio. Limit 5 Solo entries per studio. All entries must be received by cut off date, no later. Limited number of acts in competition therefore COMPETITION CUT OFF MAY OCCUR BEFORE CUT OFF DATE IF QUOTA IS REACHED.

  8. Competition Admission

    Free to all registered participants with wristbands. $5.00 all others. Children 6 and under free (with proof of age). Reserved seating for Teachers of competitors. Tickets will be sold Saturday between 11am and 1pm. Tickets guarantee entry only. Seating is first come first to be seated.

  9. Competition Award Presentation

    By style and category in each division. 1st 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in each style, category and division. Overall Highest Score trophies will be awarded in each category. All ties will be broken, first by performance score, second by technical score and third by judges vote.

  10. Competition Video

    Competition DVDs will be available for purchase at the registration desk between 1:00pm and 3:00pm the afternoon following the competition. DVDs are priced by routine. $35.00 for first routine, $15.00 per routine after that. DVD will be filled and mailed within 14 business days. Teachers/Parents/Students may only purchase routines they have entered or are directly affiliated with.
